Ever bought a limited edition art print or ceramic only to find it hasn’t held its value?

These days, many galleries offer limited edition versions of a more valuable original art work. Sometimes these are good investments and desirable in their own right, but its just as likely that they won’t hold their value in the marketplace, and you can end up paying over the odds for an item that you see listed for a fraction of its original selling price a few months later on Ebay.

So how do you tell whether a limited edition is worth what a gallery says it’s worth?

ValueMyStuff.com founder Patrick van der Vorst has a simple personal valuation formula that does exactly this, which he shares with you in this week’s video blog. All is revealed, along with some other tips about the valuation distinctions between editions of works by famous artists like Andy Warhol, and those by relative unknowns. Just watch the video to find out!
